RESTAURANT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - 6 MONTH ROLLING CONTRACT - STARTING IN OCTOBER  - £30k pro rata.

Happy Maki is about to undergo an exciting restructure, due to a transition from a small to medium sized business. We are looking for someone with restaurant management experience to come in for 6 months and help us achieve our goals in becoming a more streamlined, ethical and effective business across the board.  From managing our staffing teams to standardising our processes and customer experience across both our restaurant and takeaway sites in the North and South Lanes respectively.  This will be a very rewarding positing with tangible improvements as we are keen to grow and develop our much loved vegan sushi sites in Brighton.  The role will suit someone who can bring restaurant management experience with great people skills along side a passion for organisation, communication and customer experience who is keen to be part of a progressive and exciting ethical vegan business.

In this role you will be the point of contact for the business manager and company owner as well as overseeing both sites.  The role will involve 4.5 - 5 days work a week consisting of two days at each location working with store managers (8 pool Valley and 23 Sydney street) and the remaining time spent on administration and development.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

● Rota manamenet using Square teams
● Process and product control across both site
● Problem solving and process improvement to ensure hightest ethics of operation.
● Communication with Business manager & owner to make improvements in the most efficient way possible
● People management
● Ensureing onboarding process is followed correctly
● Ensireing staff feedback and reviews are being clearly and honestly communicated.
● Making sushi burritos and serving customers      
● Ensuring a high level of cleanliness at all times in the shop  
● Ensuring a positive gift economy experience for customers
● Cleaning, deep cleaning and washing up
● Vegetable prep
● Making orders for Deliveroo and Uber eats
● Good understanding of ingredients and allergens
● On feet being active for all of the day, lifting stock, making sushi, hands on work.

RECRUTING MANAGERS AND ASSISTANT MANAGERS FOR OUR BRIGHTON RESTAURANT AND TAKEAWAY

RECRUITING TO START ASAP.

Store Manager: 4-5 days a week depending on desire and availability and in charge of overseeing the running of the store. Starting wage £25K pro rata.

Store Assistant manager: 3-5 days a week depending on desire and availability, supporting the manager in running of the store. Starting wage £22.5K pro rata.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

●    Supervising, organising and disciplining staff when necessary
●    Stock knowledge & ordering
●    Understanding food safety routines and ensuring they are adhered to
●    Filing invoices
●    Training new staff
●    Communication with suppliers via email & phone
●    Close communication with management team about any issues and fixing them
●    Working closely with the chef to ensure efficient food service
●    Making sushi rolls and serving customers
●    Ensuring a high level of cleanliness at all times in the shop  
●    Dealing with customer complaints
●    Ensuring a positive gift economy experience for customers
●  On feet being active for all of the day, lifting stock, making sushi, hands on work.


PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

●     Previous management experience or a strong desire to start managing and proof of great communication and organisational skills.
●     Level 2 Food Hygiene, completed prior to role commencing
●     Confident knife skills for large amount of veg prep 
●     Experience working in a fast-paced environment
●     Strong multi-tasking skills
●     Enjoys working as part of a team
●     Very hard working and productive
●     Clean and tidy work practices 
●     Passion or understanding for veganism
●     Kind and considerate character

festivals 2022


After a successful 2021 season, going forwards we are looking for a couple or individual to run our one unit next year at approximately 10 tried and tested events (Including Glastonbury) 

This role will ideally involve the mangement team taking full responsability for future festival operations on a generous profit share scheme, or possible with the option of a franchise model. With 6 years experience in the festival catering industry and two times winner of Best Festival caterer award, the stall has efficient and organised systems in place.  Its an extremely well established and respected branch of Happy Maki so we are are just looking for passionate inviduals who want to continue this success and take on the festival operations as their own. The position is ideal for idividuals looking for lucrative seasonal employment.
